Our next Tamiya Takeover Event is

This is a day (almost) solely devoted to fans of the Tamiya brand, an opportunity to run these iconic cars at the iconic Mendip circuit. This is a day for racers and enthusiasts alike. The morning will start with an open practice session with the track available for all entrants to run their cars. Following practice there will be three rounds of qualifying and a single final.

The track will open at 9:00am for practice until 10:00am, first heat will be on the line at 10:30am

If you are not a regular racer and have not participated in organised race meetings at other clubs you are not required to be a member of the BRCA for this event. The Clubs BRCA affiliation allows non-BRCA members who have never raced before to attend this meeting on the same basis as those with membership*.

Race Fees

  • Seniors – Members £7.00 – Non-members 10.00 first class
  • Juniors (U16, non-racer pass/single race class only) – £1.00
  • Additional Classes – £2.00 per additional class (max 3 classes per person)

A percentage of the entry fees will be donated to Parkinson’s UK the charity of the Iconic Cup.

Electric powered vehicles only. The committee reserves the right to ask unsuitable vehicles to be removed from the track. Classes may be combined to create heats. All club rules, terms and conditions of use and privacy policies apply at all times.

Class Rules

  • Iconic Cup Classes – Information
  • Tamiya truck stock class – built as per kit, gear ratio as per kit, kit wheels tyres (no gluing tyre side walls, no inserts), kit standard silver can motor, batteries 6 cell/2s only, friction shocks – bearings and additional heat sink permitted.
  • Open M-Chassis – any Tamiya M-Chassis any motor
  • 4wd and 2wd Touring Cars can also be run at this meeting (any motor, any Manufacturer). 

Booking in opens the Sunday prior to the meeting at 8:00pm
