Mendurance 2

18th April 2025 (Good Friday)
This is a 5 Hour endurance race for teams of 4 racers on the iconic Mendip on road circuit. It will require pit stops, strategy and nerves of steel! Aimed at being a fun days racing with a bit of a spin on our normal racing. The team with the most laps after 5 hours wins!
Carried out in teams of 4 racers. Each team will need a team name when booking in*.
All drivers must hold a current BRCA licence. One chassis used for entire race per team. The permitted chassis are TT-01, TT-01E or TL01 adhering to Iconic Cup Stock Class rules/hop-ups*

The aim of this Endurance race is to have fun racing a slightly different format to the ones we’re all used to. It will be fair but the emphasis will be very much about enjoying ourselves!

Event Rules**
General Rules
- All teams MUST share driving and marshalling duties as equally as possible.
- All teams MUST change drivers whenever they change batteries.
- Only FOUR registered team members. Additional Pit Crew are NOT allowed to assist in any way.
- Each team member MUST do a minimum of 4 race stints of 8 minutes or more.
- Racers will follow this cycle: Drive/Pit/Marshal/Rest
- Only one team member allowed on the rostrum at any one time.
- Aggressive or abusive behaviour will NOT be tolerated.
- No aggressive or overly defensive driving allowed.
- Remember other teams maybe on on different race strategies. Please let faster cars pass.
- Pit stops to change Drivers/Batteries/Transmitter handover must be done in the numbered “Pull Off” area trackside.
- All other repairs including tyre and motor changes MUST be done in your pitting area, NOT trackside.
- Hi vis must be worn when marshalling.

Control Motor – Core 21t or Tamiya Torque Tuned motor (More than one motor is permitted)
Bodyshell – Scale body rules apply, bodyshells should be reasonably accurate representations of a real car. Any ICONIC CUP legal shell eligible for Stock or Super Stock class is allowed (No “Jelly Mould” type shells). Feel free to ask if unsure.
Tyres – Any commercially available rubber tyre (as many as necessary) NO FOAM
Diffs – All Differentials MUST rotate freely – No Locked Diffs
Batteries -Batteries charged to 8.40v maximum (random checks may be carried out and any team overcharging will be disqualified) All LiPo batteries MUST be charged in a LiPo safe container/bag. Only one battery per car, no stacked or linked batteries.
Receivers – 2x Receivers per car are permitted to enable the use of either stick or wheel controllers
Power – Each team must provide their own charging power. Generators can be run in the designated area and extension cables ran back to pitting. 12 volt batteries and power banks are ideal if they can handle the number of charges you will require!
Scrutineering
(at 10:10) Before racing commences your car will have a basic check by scrutineering. There will be random checks on cars throughout the event. One chassis used for entire race per team. This will be marked by scrutineering. Any replacement chassis tub must be marked by scrutineering prior to continuation of racing.
Race Penalties
Unsafe pitting – If a team are found to be working on the car while it is not in the pitting area, the team will be penalised with a 1-minute stop-go penalty.
Unfair pit stop – If a team complete a pit stop without changing drivers or re-join the track from outside the pit lane, the team will be penalised with a 1-minute stop-go penalty.
Unfair driving – If a driver is racing in an unsafe or aggressive manner, the team will be penalised with a stop-go penalty. This will be classed as a pit stop and the offending racer will need to change over to the next racer in the team.
Rule breaker – If a team is found to have modified their car after it has been scrutinised (or during the race) beyond the limitations set out in the class rules, the team will be disqualified from the race.
Un-sportsman like racing – If a team are found to be gaining a clear advantage from any loophole they find in the rules which they did not raise in the briefing, they will be asked to revert the advantage. If not possible, a vote with other teams will decide whether to give the team a 5-minute stop-go penalty or disqualify them from the race.
Unfair team racing – If a team fail to share out the race duties (set out in General Rules) after 4 hours of racing, the team will be penalised with a 5-minute stop-go penalty.
Marshalling – If a team fail to man their marshalling point for longer than 1 minute or do not recover cars in a sporting manor, the team will be penalised with a 5-minute stop-go penalty.
Unauthorised additional outside assistance – Disqualification from the event!
