Risk Assessment
Corona Virus – Minimising Risk of Transmission
It is the Committee’s intention to comply with all Government legislation and guidelines, along with the advice and guidance of the BRCA and MSUK in keeping our racers as safe as is possible at events held at Mendip RC Raceway.
The challenges involved in doing this will require co-operation from all the users of the site and vigilance from the committee in guiding, correcting and censuring those not meeting the requirements laid out.
Whilst the Club Committee has adequate power to enact consequences for those not following directions it is noted that infringements can be also be referred to the BRCA who will support the club and may also impose their own sanctions against racers with no recourse from the club.
The Club Committee would prefer to avoid going down this route and have undertaken that, in the first instance, guidance should be offered. However, severe or wilful infringement of the process will be dealt with accordingly.
For the purposes of evaluation it is noted that most of our activities take places outdoors. It has been evaluated that both rostrums can be considered outdoor areas with good ventilation and airflow. The indoor areas are mainly those used to run the meetings, these are designated “race control” and as such access is only available to those organising the meeting.
The rostrum and waiting areas will be marked to allow the correct social distancing to be adhered to.
One way systems will be clearly marked for rostrums and around the site.
Pedestrian priority will be given to those travelling toward the track in use during the meeting when entering or exiting the covered pit area.
Booking in for practice and race meetings will be carried out online. This minimises face to face contact of booking in and gives a record of those attending the site should track and trace procedures be invoked.
Payment will no longer be taken in the form of cash, any payments due will be taken electronically in advance of the meeting.
Drivers briefing will no longer be carried out on the day but will be replaced by a written document which will be made available prior to any event. Any further information will be disseminated via the public address system during the meeting.
Medical Exemptions
Following guidelines issued by the BRCA and MSUK there will be no provision for anyone to attend the site without wearing a mask. Medical exemptions will not be accommodated. In addition all users of the track will be required to complete the BRCA Track and Trace registration on every visit to the Mendip RC Raceway site.
